Charter Terms & Cancellation Policy

These terms apply to every day charter and Stay & Fish package booked with Village Life Investments Pvt Ltd ("Equator Fishing", "we"), GA. Maamendhoo, Maldives, whether requested through the app, the website or directly with the crew.

1. Requests and confirmation

• A booking request is not a confirmed booking. The crew reviews each request and approves or declines it, usually within 12 hours.
• Requests that are not answered within 48 hours, or whose trip date passes, expire automatically.
• Prices are per boat (not per person) in US dollars and include the captain and crew, fuel, and the gear and amenities listed for the boat.

2. Deposit and payment

• Once a request is approved, a 30% deposit locks the date. For day charters it is due within 48 hours of approval; a booking without the deposit may be released.
• The balance is settled in cash on arrival, or by another method agreed with the crew.
• Stay & Fish packages: the listed price covers the boat up to its maximum number of anglers. Each additional guest is charged the extra-guest rate shown at booking time.

3. Cancellation by you

• Stay & Fish packages: free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival, less any flight and transfer costs already incurred on your behalf. Cancellations within 30 days of arrival are non-refundable.
• Day charters: a pending request can be cancelled at any time. Once approved and the deposit paid: cancellations more than 30 days before the trip are refunded in full; between 20 and 30 days before, half the deposit is refunded; within 20 days the deposit is retained.
• No-shows and late arrivals that shorten the trip are charged in full.

4. Weather and sea conditions

• The captain decides whether conditions are safe. If a trip cannot sail, it is rescheduled; where rescheduling is impossible, the deposit is refunded.
• On Stay & Fish packages a rough-sea day becomes a Relax & Recharge day on the island; fishing resumes once the ocean calms. Days lost to weather are not refunded separately.

5. Aboard

• The number of guests may not exceed the boat's maximum. Children count toward the party size; life jackets are provided and must be worn when the captain asks.
• Guests follow the crew's safety instructions at all times. The captain may end a trip early, without refund, if behaviour endangers the boat or the people on it.
• Guests are responsible for their own belongings. We recommend travel insurance covering sport fishing.
• Alcohol and illegal substances are not permitted on board.

6. Stay & Fish packages

• Packages include domestic flights Malé-Kooddoo, speedboat transfers to Maamendhoo, accommodation at Village Life Residence, the meals stated, daily transfers to the boat and the fishing days stated.
• Not included: international flights, travel insurance, tips, laundry, extra meals and drinks, and excess baggage. Domestic flight times depend on the airline's schedule.

7. Changes by us

If we must cancel a confirmed booking (for example, a boat becomes unavailable), we offer another date or boat of equal standard, or refund everything paid to us.
